    The Concept

LearningLinks is a unique experience where the power of teams, leadership and Emotional Intelligence comes to life through learning, practicing and playing.

    Warren Bennis,

in his book On Leadership, said it best, "People first, Strategy second."

It is our belief that changes will have to be made in both content and the process of team and leadership training if organizations of the 21st century want effective teams and leaders.  Many of today's programs have done an adequate job of helping individuals understand the concepts and behaviors of leadership.  But today's diversified workplace and virtual offices demand that leaders and team members understand the people as well as, if not better than, the products and services that the company delivers.

We know that people love to learn by "doing".  Why then do most training programs take place in a classroom, with a talking head disseminating mountains of information supported by a voluminous stack of pages?  Is it reasonable to expect participants to get excited about this style of learning?  Further, participants only remember 10% of what they hear and 15% of what they see.

A recent study of managerial and sales training programs offered in a large corporation demonstrated the superiority of experiential methods for social and emotional learning.  The programs that used experiential methods produced twice as much improvement in performance, as rated by supervisors and peers, as did the other programs.  Furthermore, the return on investment for the experiential programs was seven times greater.
We know that millions of people in our culture have an interest, or participate, in sports. Specifically, interest in golf as a sport and as a tool of business is exploding world-wide.

Can the energy from the interest in golf be tapped to sharpen interest in learning valuable lessons for business?

Yes! LearningLinks programs offer real drama played in a real setting that has what other programs lack - a motivating influence and return on investment for the individual and the organization.

Our unique, fast-moving programs harmonize two learning worlds—an interactive classroom and the challenges of a golf course.
